*What is your favorite season of the year? Why?

*What is your least favorite season? Why?

*One theory is that people’s favorite season is the
season in which they were born (when their birthday
is). Do you agree? Why/why not?

*Most tourist information and many informational
videos about Korea mention (repeatedly) that Korea
has “four distinct seasons.” Why do you think that this
one fact is so strongly promoted? Why are four seasons
a “big deal” in Korea?

Seasons

The four seasons of the year are spring, summer , fall, and winter, and the months are set accordingly. March to around May is for spring, June to August for summer, September to November for fall, and finally December to February for a normal winter season. Spring is when rain and flowers suddenly increase in amount, and if the sun starts to get longer and hotter usually means the beginning of summer. After that, when leaves turn into orange/red/yellow and fall and a chilly wind starts to set in tells you it is time for fall. Finally, when the days and nights get cloudy and freezing, and snowflakes start to spiral down from the heavens above, either piling on top of each other nonstop, until it is more than two feet high, you know that winter has really set in. All seasons have their identifying characteristics. What do you like about these characteristics?

My favorite season is fall, because it feels just right. It is warm and cool, never burning or freezing necessarily. It feels like the best time for sports (sweating plus cool day feels much better than running in a blistering hot sun). Accordingly, my least favorite is spring, mainly because of all the allergies possible to get, and not just that, asthma is the worst match as well. Certain attributes can also be harmful, and people with serious asthma attacks probably know this much better than me.
There are many different stories and myths surrounding the seasons, and a big theory is that the season someone is born will favorite that season. However, this does not seem appropriate in all cases, because while Kevin (L) was born in December and likes winter, I was born in March but hate spring. However, Kevin and I both make more body heat than normal people; thus we sweat much more. We both like cooler seasons, probably because it is cooler. Thus, I think the liking depends on how we think and how our body acts.
Some countries may try to prove its distinct characteristics, like Korea, which always tries to show different aspects of the culture in several ways. Especially if Korea wants tourists to come and see how their country has a huge variety for each season.
Without seasons, it could be better and worse, but we do, so we have learned to cope with them. Every season comes with a new mission for everyone!
