What was your goal?
What events or complications prevented you from reaching that goal?
What happened in the end (did you end up meeting your goal)?
A complicated situation for me was when I was in sixth grade, I took too many AR tests, so while my accuracy and points were much higher than my original goal, my reading level just needed a slight boost of 0.5 more from 5.5, and I would accomplish my quarter two goal for AR. I had kept doing quizzes of books with low levels, and it was now almost permanent because I had done too many. Mrs. Major, realizing this, tried to help by recommending non-fiction books, which I quickly finished off that day (small books of hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, shipwrecks, and plane crashes, which were all levels over 7-8) and quickly did the quizzes. It barely inched up one point (5.6). At that point I was so frustrated and told Mrs. Major my dilemma. She took pity on me and told me she would put me up for the AR award anyway. I was so thankful, not because I had worked so hard, but how teachers can sometimes be very nice! Since then, I have been very careful with my AR tests and goals!
